Data Compliance is Real
One of the questions I’m asked the most is “If all of Web3 are data companies, how do we stay compliant?”
Data Compliance is strict but not impossible.
Basically, the UK and California GDPR guidelines are what you have to adhere to to have a compliant global data ecosystem.
That means for every code release, you have to run SECOPS to confirm your GDPR mechanisms are still in place. This is usually done in your product deployment “Go/No-Go” meetings. You want to confirm the new code will not allow hackers in.
Continuum wanted to beef up our Privacy Policy and found a great free service for Data Privacy Compliance at Termly. If I link their site here, it’s part of data sharing and selling. Even though I like them, I haven’t talked to them yet to confirm I can share their info. So more to come later on Termly.
It also means that if you’ve unsubscribed, Continuum can’t email you. So if you now want to follow our story again, please register.
You’ll see in our screenshots that Termly has got it right. All of these components are critical to Global Data Compliance.
All Web3 brands need to take this very seriously for global data ecosystems. UK is passing Jan 2023 new regulations too, so stay vigilant to ensure compliance.
